Innocence Restored

by A. Salazar

I fall, but I rise up again,

holding your hand in mine.

You see me and you understand,

and things will be just fine.

Your ever-present faith in me

provides my strength in need.

The way you look into my eyes,

how could I not concede?

I hold the stars within my grasp:

inside those stars is you.

You raise me up to where you are;

within your light I'm new.

We flow together in the tides,

we change with every breath.

Our souls are bound within our love,

Together after death.

And through your eyes I see myself,

renewed in faith and love.

You hold my heart within your own,

and so below, above.

Inspired by classical Greek sculpture.
