This oil on panel is made with a limited palette, multi-layered technique favored in the old Venetian style.

 

Our Blessed Virgin Mary is depicted at peace, filled with grace and resplendent with the Holy Spirit. Her red robe covered by her blue cloak symbolizes her humanity clothed in divine grace, and the seven rays from her head represent God's perfect completion.

 

Inspired by the numerous Virgin paintings of the Old Master Sassoferrato.


This painting was recently shown in LELA International's "Expressions of Peace" exhibition at the Los Angeles Makery.
